The Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB), a professional organization of technology journalists in Bangladesh, held its biennial general meeting on Saturday at the Daffodil Tower in Sukrabad, Dhaka.
The meeting, held at the Tower’s 71 Auditorium, reviewed the organizational activities and financial accounts of the guild for the 2023–24 term and the extended 2025 term. Outgoing General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid presented a report on the organization’s activities, while Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul presented the financial statement. Both reports were approved unanimously by the general members.
The meeting also approved a proposal to reduce the number of members of the TMGB Executive Committee from 11 to nine to make the organization’s activities more dynamic, efficient and better organized.
Members of the general body and the Board of Trustees took part in discussions on various organizational matters. Among those who spoke were outgoing President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, Vice Presidents Moidul Islam and Kumar Bishwajit Roy, General Secretary Mursalin Haque Zonaid, Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul, Organizing Secretary Md. Golam Dustogir Touhid and Publication Secretary Naznin Akter Lucky.
The meeting also discussed the election of the new Executive Committee for the 2026–28 term. October has been tentatively set as the timeframe for holding the election.
Hasan Hafiz, President of the National Press Club, was announced as the Chief Election Commissioner for the election. The other two members of the Election Commission are Tanvir Ibrahim, President of the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), and S M Afsarul Islam (Sumon Afsar), a member of the TMGB Board of Trustees.
